Rambles

My other half is away to Haji Lane. Sheeshaing with his fellow peers.
I wanna have an outing with my girls soon. At least before Ris starts schooling again.

Okay. These are pretty much rambles O.0

The fact that some people are beating around the bush.

  • If there is a problem that you think might concern me - be it towards my character, about being truthful or anything about me that you are dissatisfied about, do come and tell me direct. I PARTICULARLY hate it when people talk behind my back. I may give a thousand and one excuses but there is always an authenticity to it.

Graduates from established Poly might not be able to do hands on job (my own survey)

  • The thing is that, finding a job in your related field might be fruitful if you are not choosy enough about the salary, journey and the environment. But what pisses me off is that some companies rather employ graduates (established Poly) who might not know an inch of hands on work rather than graduates (unestablished Poly) who are really capable in this aspect. Why? I have no idea.
  • The reason I raise this is because during my OJT in ITE, I was attached to an aerospace company doing repairs on components of an engine. I was given the full trust to fix some parts and deal with machinery. After my 1st month, an NTU student was attached to my area , and we, together had to work hand in hand. The only difference was that 'HE' was pretty much AFRAID to do anything hands on. Call him a sissy but he said that NTU does not teach him to do so. So, most of the job have to be completed by Yours Truly...

This above case is still forgivable since he will be a Degree holder and the only job he would do is to give instructions to his fellow workers, sitting cross-legged in the office, cracking his brains to troubleshoot.

Read On...

  • A couple of months later, a poly student came and was also attached to my area. Again, all of us had to work hand in hand. He don't mind doing the hands on job but would ask me a 1001 questions that I definitely could not answer. The irony thing is that, when my supervisor ask him for an allen key, he gave us a screwdriver! Haha! nama je dari sekolah bagus.. And there were some other things that he got confused of.
  • One day, all of the attached students were given free lunches. We sat down and talked about what we learnt in school and how we apply it during our OJT. These poly students said that all along they could not apply what they have learnt in classes because most of them are theoretical based. Whattt??? They instead envied the ITE students.

Now that I have finally graduated, or at the very least, will be graduating, I must say that Poly have not given me much hands on experience that I would have hoped to do.

And employers should really go and check out if these Engineering graduates are really worth employing. What I am saying is, go check out if they can differentiate the tools. HAHA!

So, my point is, I am still frustrated because from what I have seen, the jobs that are to my liking is so out of my qualifications. Spells L.A.E. Moose don't believe that I would be able to reach that.
Well, I'll continue with the search of my dream job. =)
